Meet Laura
I've always been someone who looks for another way of doing things. Whether it's finding a creative solution, making better use of what's already there, or seeing potential where others might not, I love figuring out what works.
My career began in Toronto, working in marketing, corporate environments, and startups. I loved the people, the pace, and the challenge of bringing ideas to life.
Then came 2020, and an unexpected little business venture involving a free yellow rocking chair from Facebook Marketplace. I painted it, sold it for $200, and thought I might be onto something.
That one chair eventually led to Periwinkle Designs, a home staging business with a fantastic team, a warehouse full of furniture, and hundreds of homes staged across Ontario.

As the business grew, so did the projects. What started with furniture and staging evolved into several whole-home renovations, commercial projects, interior decorating, organizing, and downsizing. I've had the opportunity to work on everything from complete transformations to the little changes that make a surprisingly big difference.
Today, I'm based in the Comox Valley, bringing all of that experience together through Laura Harvey, Home Design Systems.
What I enjoy most is getting to know my clients, understanding how they live, and finding solutions they might not have considered. I love beautiful interiors, but I'm equally happy sourcing a great secondhand piece, rethinking a tricky layout, or making an overwhelming project feel manageable.
My approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and practical, with a healthy dose of fun.
HOW I WORK
USE WHAT YOU HAVE
I love finding new potential in what you already own and knowing when something is worth keeping.
REAL LIFE FIRST
Aesthetics matter, but so does function. The best spaces consider both: how you want your home to look and how you actually need it to work.
MAKE IT HAPPEN
Turning an idea into something real takes more than inspiration. I can help you make the decisions, find the right pieces and people, and manage the details that move a project forward.
